Before I got started in selling real estate, I worked at a bank. I knew I wanted to do something that allowed me to work on my own schedule. I came across an ad for free training to get my real estate license. I signed up, passed the exam, and have loved being a Realtor ever since.

Michigan requires 40 hours of class time to get your real estate license. There is nothing in those 40 hours that instructs on how to market, negotiate, understand and prepare contracts, properly price properties and work with buyers and sellers to get them to the closing table. Beyond that, Michigan requires 6 hours of annual education which requires no test. You just have to be present. I made a decision from the beginning to continuously get the education I needed to properly serve my clients. I have earned designations and certifications, attended seminars and webinars, participated in mastermind groups and anything else I came across to educate myself further. I have been selling real estate since for over 26 years. I continue to keep up with the changes in my industry to stay competitive and offer my clients a better way to buy and sell real estate.
