I was renting a condo for 10 years when out of the blue my landlord knocked on my door three weeks before Christmas and said he sold his house and I had 45 days to get out and find a new place to live. My first reaction was to panic. He couldn't have picked a worse time to suddenly drop this bombshell on me as my family was scheduled to fly in for the holidays, plus I had year end deadlines at work. I was beside myself.
