Take the extra time to prepare your home! The little things & how your home presents really do matter. The way you see your house & the way others do could be different. Hire a Realtor that will walk you through this process openly & who’s not afraid to be honest with you on what you need to do (usually all minor, inexpensive things). I’m happy to do that. I always tell my sellers that if I were selling my home I’d need someone else to tell me what to do to get it ready because none of us see what others do. None of us do when we live there. I love all my transactions because they all involve people moving on to new chapters which is usually exciting for them. I especially love helping sellers do a “move up buy”. There are many facets to this type of transaction because this seller has to sell their home to be able to buy the next one so there’s quite a bit of juggling as well as special negotiations that have to take place so that they can close on the sale of their current home and also on the buy info their new home all at once. I’ve done these many times and done so smoothly.

I started in real estate by getting my real estate license in my early 20’s while living in upstate NY. When I moved to CT in 1997 I got involved in mortgage lending for several years and then in 2013 turned back to selling real estate which I’ve been successfully doing for the past 9 years.

I find that my experience in mortgage lending benefits both my buyers and sellers greatly because there are so many different scenarios that need to be thought of with different loan types. This is the case when you’re selling and you have multiple offers to look over and decide on. Some types of loans have negative impacts that can affect sellers and reasons they need to consider when deciding on which offer to chose. From a buying perspective some properties won’t qualify for some loan types. It’s important to work with a Realtor that can walk in a home and pick out what may be a potential problem.
