Chris Day

I grew up in Germantown, Maryland. It was a great place to live until 'The Blizzard of 1996!' I knew after high school I would be heading off to a college somewhere in the south where there was no snow! I graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. In college, I was very involved with student government and was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. During college, I worked part-time for AT&T and soon after graduation I was offered a full-time job in Oklahoma City. It was a great job opportunity, so off to Oklahoma I went. During the three years that I lived there, I worked as a call center supervisor and business analyst. In the evening I attended grad school at Oklahoma City University and graduated with an MBA in 2002. However, the 'best' thing that happened to me while I was in Oklahoma is that I met and married my wife April. I deeply missed Florida so when AT&T offered to me an opportunity to join the corporate sales team in Orlando I quickly accepted the position. I found that I liked being in sales. I liked meeting new people and the feeling of satisfaction I got from helping my clients accomplish their goals. I also loved the never-ending challenges, problem-solving, and rewards that went with the job. No two days were ever alike! In 2006, I left AT&T and started selling residential real estate! I've been selling real estate now for 16 years and in the last decade, I have consistently finished in the top 1% of all real estate agents in the tri-county area typically selling around 100 homes per year. I've been married for 16 years to my beautiful wife, April, who earned her degree while being a stay at home mom and when our son Tanner started school, she was fortunate to get a job in the same school. Tanner is now 14 years old and in 8th grade. Our lives are very busy, but we both love what we do and love being parents to our amazing son. My family attends church at 'theCross' in Mount Dora where I served as treasurer on the Church's Board of Directors. I am also on the Board of Directors for a Lake County organization called 'Hand In Hand', an organization which helps men and women who are battling addictions. I love sports - both watching and participating. My favorite teams are the Maryland Terps, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, Orlando Magic, and UCF. I enjoy playing volleyball and basketball.
