FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
As an experienced real estate professional, here’s the advice you’d likely give to a first-time homebuyer in today’s market:
1. Get Pre-Approved Before You Start Shopping
The market moves fast, and homes can get multiple offers quickly. Getting pre-approved for a mortgage will not only help you understand what you can afford but also make you a stronger buyer in the eyes of sellers.
2. Be Realistic About Your Budget
With interest rates fluctuating, affordability is key. Don’t stretch yourself too thin—remember to factor in taxes, insurance, closing costs, and maintenance expenses.
3. Prioritize Your Must-Haves vs. Nice-to-Haves
It’s rare to find a “perfect” home in your first search, so focus on the essentials: location, size, layout, and potential. Cosmetic upgrades can come later!
4. Work with a Trusted Realtor (Like Me!)
Having an experienced agent by your side can save you time, stress, and money. I’ll help you navigate negotiations, understand the process, and make informed decisions.
5. Don’t Skip the Home Inspection
Even if a home looks flawless, a professional inspection can reveal hidden issues. It’s worth the investment to avoid surprises down the road.
6. Be Prepared for Competition
In many areas, inventory is low, so be ready to act quickly when you find a home you love. But don’t let emotions lead you into overpaying—stay within your budget!
7. Think Long-Term
Consider your future plans—will this home fit your needs for at least the next 5–7 years? Buying a home is an investment, and planning ahead can help build equity.
8. Keep an Open Mind
Sometimes a home that needs a little TLC or is in a slightly different neighborhood can turn out to be the perfect fit. Flexibility can lead to great opportunities!
9. Don’t Forget About Closing Costs & Extra Expenses
Beyond the down payment, be prepared for closing costs (usually 2–5% of the home price), moving expenses, and any immediate updates or repairs.
10. Trust the Process—And Enjoy It!
Buying your first home is a huge milestone! It can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right guidance, you’ll make a smart, confident decision.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
As a seasoned real estate expert, here’s the advice you’d give to sellers looking to successfully sell their home in today’s market:
1. Price It Right from the Start
Overpricing can lead to your home sitting on the market too long, while underpricing might leave money on the table. A well-researched, competitive price will attract serious buyers and generate strong offers.
2. First Impressions Matter—Maximize Curb Appeal
Buyers start judging a home the moment they pull up. Fresh landscaping, a clean entryway, and a welcoming exterior can set the tone for a great showing.
3. Declutter and Depersonalize
Buyers need to picture themselves living in the space. Removing excess furniture, personal photos, and clutter will make rooms feel bigger and more inviting.
4. Make Necessary Repairs
Small issues like leaky faucets, scuffed walls, or broken fixtures can give buyers the impression that the home hasn’t been well maintained. Addressing minor repairs before listing can prevent buyers from second-guessing their offer.
5. Consider Strategic Upgrades
A fresh coat of paint, updated lighting, or minor kitchen and bathroom improvements can offer a strong return on investment. Focus on cost-effective updates that add value without breaking the bank.
6. Stage for Success
Professional staging or even simple rearranging of furniture can highlight your home’s best features and make it more appealing to buyers. Bright, airy spaces feel more inviting!
7. Be Flexible with Showings
The more accessible your home is for showings, the more potential buyers will see it. Try to accommodate last-minute requests whenever possible.
8. Work with an Experienced Realtor (Like Me!)
Having a skilled agent on your side ensures you price strategically, market effectively, and negotiate the best terms. I’ll handle the details so you can focus on your next move.
9. Be Prepared for Negotiations
Buyers may request repairs, concessions, or price adjustments. Stay open-minded and trust your agent’s guidance to get the best deal while keeping the transaction smooth.
10. Stay Emotionally Detached & Focus on the Goal
Selling a home can be emotional, but try to view it as a business decision. Keep your focus on the end goal—getting the best price and terms for your sale!

4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
Overcoming Challenges to Get to the Closing Table
Some real estate deals are straightforward, and then there are the ones that truly test every ounce of skill, patience, and determination. My recent transaction with Mark was one of those complex negotiations that required fitness, professionalism, business acumen, and psychology—all coming together to make the deal happen.
Mark was set on purchasing a property, but as negotiations unfolded, we encountered unexpected challenges—from shifting seller demands to last-minute financing concerns. At times, it seemed like the deal was on life support. But I don’t back down easily. I worked tirelessly, navigating difficult conversations, mediating between all parties, and keeping the process moving forward.
Through sheer perseverance, expert negotiation, and a deep understanding of what it would take to bring both sides together, we finally got to the closing table. As Mark put it, “If it wasn’t for Betty, this deal would have died.”
In the end, Mark didn’t just walk away with the keys to a great property—he gained a lifelong friend. This transaction was a testament to my ability to problem-solve under pressure, advocate fiercely for my clients, and ensure that no deal falls apart on my watch.
Whether it's a high-stakes negotiation or a seamless transaction, I bring the same level of commitment, expertise, and heart to every deal. Because in real estate, it’s not just about closing deals—it’s about changing lives.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
How I Got Started in Real Estate – A Passion Turned Career
My journey into real estate didn’t start with a business plan—it started with a passion. From a young age, I was fascinated by homes, design, and the idea of creating spaces where people could build their lives. Whether it was flipping through home magazines, exploring open houses, or helping friends and family envision their dream homes, I always felt drawn to real estate.
Before diving into the industry, I had a strong background in customer service, sales, and negotiation, which taught me how to truly listen, problem-solve, and advocate for people’s needs. I realized that helping someone buy or sell a home was more than a transaction—it was about guiding them through one of the most important decisions of their lives.
I took a leap of faith and pursued my real estate license, and from my very first deal, I knew I had found my calling. The thrill of negotiating the perfect deal, the excitement of handing over the keys to a first-time buyer, and the trust my clients place in me—it all fuels my passion every single day.
Over the years, I’ve worked with first-time buyers, luxury home clients, equestrian property owners, investors, and sellers looking to move to their next chapter. I’ve seen markets shift, trends evolve, and challenges arise, but one thing has remained constant—my dedication to my clients and my love for this business.
For me, real estate isn’t just about buying and selling homes; it’s about building relationships, making dreams a reality, and being the trusted guide that helps people navigate one of the biggest moments in their lives. I’m grateful every day for this journey and for the amazing clients who make it all worthwhile!

As a first-time home buyer, I really didn't know what the process would be like or who to reach out to and when. Betty helped me every step of the way and was consistently available to me via phone and email whenever I had a question. She helped me to understand each step I would be taking and what everything meant. She clearly had my best interest in mind when advising me on what to offer, what to ask for after the inspection, and negotiating everything. I highly recommend her and promise that you will be in good hands!
Great experience! Real example for professionals. I don't think I will sell or buy any property soon, but if I'll need a help with real estate - I will choose Betty.

Betty managed to balance exemplary professionalism with warm friendly support. This latter was important for me as an older gentlemen turning to apartment renting after 22 years as caretaker of an YMCA Outdoor Center and later 23 years as a homeowner. She was able to walk me through every step of the process, with which I was unfamiliar with patience and great good spirit!
