FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Research recent sales of comparable homes to determine real value of a home. Try to buy a home in a good school district, even if you don't have children. Talk to your agent to figure out how to write an offer that stands a good chance of acceptance, but make sure you understand their reasoning - it should be backed up by recent sales data.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Try to distance yourself from your home and consider it as an asset to be sold rather than your home. Hire a listing agent that understands marketing, is highly tech-savvy and who will arrange for pre-listing inspections, advise on cost-effective improvements, and have your home professionally staged and photographed. In short - make sure to hire an experienced full service agent who will put your interests first.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
First-time buyers, move-up buyers and sellers, relocation buyers and sellers, distress sales, probate sales and more.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I helped a buyer to get a gorgeous home in a great location for less than the list price in a market where nice homes typically get multiple offers in a matter of days. We moved very quickly and got our offer accepted within a day of it being listed for sale.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
My background is technology, sales, recruitment & relocation and marketing. My daughter (also a Realtor) constantly told me I would be a natural for Real Estate. My only regret is that I didn't do it earlier. This is the most satisfying move I ever made.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I have renovated, bought and sold many homes so I have a detailed knowledge of residential construction and I can often see potential that others miss. I am also an experienced photographer and videographer and this, combined with my marketing background, helps me to get great prices for my sellers.

Michelle and Bernard were great to work with. Their knowledge of the current market was spot on. They were always available for questions and were always on time for scheduled appointments. Their tips for preparing the house for sale were useful, and the staging they did enhanced the features in our home. As a result our home sold in a week. We highly recommend Bernard and Michelle.

Bernard was fantastic to work with. My wife and I were first time home buyers and felt very comfortable working with Bernard. He didnt rush us at all and made sure that we found the right home for us. He told us that he didnt care how long it took and he was a man of his word. We really appreciated his knowledge of the area and his help walking us through the home buying process. I would recommend Bernard to any home buyers. Excellent service and very attentive to all of our questions.

Bernard helped my mother sell her townhouse in a very hot market. He expertly guided us through multiple offers after the house was listed for only several days! We had around a hundred groups troop through the house during the one open-house weekend and multiple private showings. His marketing plan, pricing strategy, and staging (thanks also to Yvonne, his stager) really paid off. Bernard also offered excellent customer service and communication; he was at every inspection and also at the closing. Highly recommended!

We recently worked with Bernard Gibbons on the sale of our home in San Ramon. I cannot say enough good things about the job he did and would heartily recommend him without reservation. He is extremely knowledgeable about the East Bay market and about real estate in general. He developed a comprehensive marketing plan and provided great advice regarding prepping the house for sale. During the sales process, he made all of the right moves as conditions changed. He worked tirelessly to help us no matter what issues arose. We think so highly of Bernard that we recommended him to our son who is first-time buyer.
