1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
The advice I'd give varies so much depending on the market but every buyer should prepare in advance, boosting credit score and saving money. Have a list of wants/needs prepared in advance but be flexible when you start looking. Have your loan pre-approval/finances in order when you're ready for your home search and choose an agent that listens to you and aligns with your values. Know that it might take several offers to get the right house, don't be discouraged, your HOME is out there.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Plan ahead. Pick an experienced real estate professional that listens to you and will help you prepare your home for the current market. An agent who knows the market trends and is skilled in pricing, negotiating and is willing to WORK. This is very important for maximizing your gains in the least amount of time with minimal stress to you.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of clients. It's less about the types of clients and more about the clients as individuals. Each one is special and has educated me in some way.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
My most recent transaction is one where the buyers were referred to me by a client I had done several transactions with, over 15 years ago! It's special when someone moves away but remembers your name for that long. I must have made a great impression on them to have referred their friend to me. The new buyers were a joy and I outdid myself to make sure they had a great experience.
Another fond transaction involved a family selling the family home. The family dynamic can be tough in this situation but if you have care and concern for each individual it can be a really beautiful experience.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
When I got into real estate I was the youngest agent in my Board at 26. It was like jumping off a cliff! I had a small child and was furloughed after 9/11. True sink or swim style and fortunately for me it became my passion and I swept the Top Agent awards in my office that year (2003).
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I am grateful for my years as Lead Flight Attendant, it taught me how to sell ANYTHING (think...chicken over beef, aisle or middle seat) and to really LISTEN to what clients are saying. I've taken several courses in Emotional Intelligence, important for all people, not just agents. I've taken courses on home staging and they are helpful when clients are getting ready to list. 19+ years of courses and experience in many aspects of real estate.
