We, her kids, live out of state and Aleaha Myers was recommended to us by another realtor who knows Aleaha. Six months prior to my mothers stroke, my mother spent the previous year trying to sell her house in Salem before she gave up. She wanted to move closer to her grandkids in Florida and she tried 3 different realtors who all said they could sell her house no problem. A bit about the Salem house she had. The house had some high points like the wonderfully renovated front and back yard, and the new roof she put on it two years prior to the sale. However, the house was also uniquely quirky: it had a Smurf blue exterior, It had different colors for each interior room, it had an unusual floor plan, and its kitchen and bathrooms were outdated. When we spoke with Aleaha we explained our situation. We needed to sell our moms house so we could use her mortgage payment to help pay for her care expenses due to her stroke. The catch was our mom took out a second mortgage to pay for the renovations she did on the house and now she owed what the market value of the home was worth. We explained to Aleaha that our Mom had other realtors try to sell the house with no success, and we could not take a loss on the sale of her house. Aleaha made one small recommendation to help the sale, and that was to paint the interior all one color to give the home a more neutral and cohesive feel which we did. I personally had my doubts that such a small change would really help sell our moms house given that the exterior was still smurf blue, but boy oh boy was I wrong! Aleaha had the house in contract in under a month. While the house was under contract for sale the house had an inspection that showed there was water damage to the walls due to the improper installation of the new roof my mom had put on. Unfortunately the purchaser backed out of the sale and now we had a house that really was unsellable until we had the damage fixed. We took the house off the market and started the process of a damage claim with the roofers insurance company. While we were in the claims process Aleaha was still working to find the right buyer for our moms house. We didnt even finish the claims process before Aleaha found such a person and we were under contract again. The new buyer Aleaha found knew all about the water damage and was just fine in taking over the claim with the roofer to get the damage fixed. Now all we had to do was move all of the stuff out of our moms house. Aleah was there to help with that too. She let us know anything we could not put into storage, she would find a place to donate it too. I drove up to Salem with one of my siblings over a 3 day holiday weekend to move things out of my mom's house so that the new owners can move in. While up there, I got a chance to meet Aleaha in person when she went out of her way to pick up my dad's death certificate which was needed for the sale of my moms house and I wanted to make sure Aleaha had it in her hand. Being that this was my first and only time meeting Aleaha she felt like a long time friend I had known forever. After meeting her I knew my dad's death certificate was in safe hands and Aleaha took great care of the official document, mailing it back to us in a non bendable first class envelope. I cant rave about Aleaha enough! She was there for us every step of the way and thanks to her we were able to sell my mom's house in Salem. Thank you Aleaha for everything!!!
