Understand the mkt. Old saying “Hope for the best, expect the worst.” Try for the single family home but you might have to go into a villa or condo. Give your realtor as much info about search criteria as you can. Number of bedrooms/baths/sq footage. Give preferences but also minimums. LISTEN to your realtor, but don’t necessarily HEED advice. We usually know current situation but aren’t all knowing.

Understand the mkt. Don’t expect a million just because your neighbors got it. A lot of factors go into figuring what your home is worth. Size/# bedrooms/baths/updates(stainless/granite in kitchen/type of flooring). Give a range of what you will accept, not a set price.
