FAQ
First, figure out what you can afford and what you qualify for. Work that montly mortgage payment into your budget to make sure that you can still live the comfortably without stretching yourself too thin. Then based on that price point decide what your "must haves" are in your next home. It's now time to speak with a realtor who will help tailor a search of properties that not only fit your budget, but also have the amenities that you are looking for.
Have a plan. There are a lot of variables that come into play when selling your home. I advise my clients to have a plan A, plan B and a plan Z. Plan A is an ideal situation. Plan B isn't ideal, but you can make it work and plan Z is a last resort option. Figure out where and what you'll be doing once you sell and how much money you'll need for the proceeds of your sale to execute that plan. Next it's time to sit with a realtor to review a Market Analysis report to understand current market conditions, neighborhood property values and review the probable sale price of your home.
Over my career, I've worked with a diverse client group looking to buy and sell residential and commercial real estate. I sincerely appreciate being a part of the process and understand that a real estate transaction is many times a client's big investment. As a trusted advisor, my goal is to maximize the value for my client in each and every transaction.
I recently had the opportunity to work with a client who was trying to sell her home with a another agent. The property sat on the market for over 6 months with no viable offers. I was able to re-list the property and had the seller under contract within two weeks of listing the property.
I was a cop in NYC and wanted a career that I could move into when I retired. I asked myself "what would I do to keep myself busy if I won the lottery and never had to work again?" And the answer was easy, I would do real estate. I decided to get licensed and haven't looked back. Being a realtor gives me the same ability to help people like I did as a police officer.
I am a Military Relocation Professional, have taken the commercial foundations course and am also a licensed mortgage loan originator NMLS #1741245.
