No home is perfect. So when you find one that's an 8 out of 10, you just found a winner. Your agent should never pressure you to buy a home you don't like, but a good Realtor should be able to help you evaluate the pros and cons, and point to solutions to any issues you see.

Price it appropriately, market it madly, and get eyes on it and IN it. What you want is a buyer who can't see themselves living anywhere except your home. An experienced agent will advise you on how to attract the best buyers - follow that advice!

I work with all types, singles, families, relocating, investors, first time buyers, seniors, people moving up, people selling and downsizing. My clients have been both local and out of state, and at every part of the income scale. I help everyone I can. I have many repeat clients and referrals from people who have worked with me and shared recommended me to their friends and family. I'm enjoy people of all sorts, so that gives me a pretty varied clientele!

A couple called me frustrated that they had outgrown their home. The husband was working from home now, and what used to be cozy had become too crowded. So we found a great home for them, and negotiated a great deal that was contingent on the sale of my clients' home. We listed their home for sale, and were able to get multiple offers and top dollar for their subdivision. We found buyers who absolutely loved all of the renovations they had done and were willing to allow my clients a few days of possession after closing. At the same time, we negotiated with the sellers of my clients' new home to give us early possession and to make some repairs that the inspection revealed. My clients got more than they expected for their first home without having to do any repairs, and got an amazing deal on their new home with the seller covering their closing costs and making repairs. In the end, it was physically, financially, and emotionally a great move for my clients!

Everything changed when we found out my wife was pregnant with our first child. I was a teacher trainer and my wife, Debbie, volunteered full time in the ministry. We had bought and renovated a couple of homes, but were satisfied with our work situation. Our income was modest but adequate for our needs and a little more. But now faced with the added responsibility of a baby, I knew my work situation would have to change. My classes were primarily in the afternoons and evenings, and I couldn't keep that teaching schedule and raise a family. I wanted to be home for bedtime stories, not sitting in traffic or teaching a night class. The Realtor I had used when we bought our house had recommended several times over the years that I get my real estate license. At one point he even called to see if I had because he was looking for help on his team. But until I found out we were going to have a baby, I just didn't feel motivated to make it happen. Now priorities had shifted. I reached out to him, and other agents I knew, give it a lot of prayerful consideration, and decided to make the career shift. I gave the language institute where I taught a full years notice, went part time, trained my proteges as best I could, and started a real estate business. I haven't looked back a day since, and I get every dinner and bedtime with my (now 4) kids!

I am trained as an educator, was a trainer of teachers, the Lead Trainer and Director of Curriculum and Training at what was previously called the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute (now the TN Language Center at the University of Tennessee). I am still an educator - but now I help my clients understand their options and make wise decisions in the field of real estate.
