I initially hired Miranda to just do paperwork to sell a property. She said her price would be $2700 because the buyer needed some hand holding. That’s kinda steep but I agreed to it. I mean… like okay, you heIp him find a bank, work as a go-between with me (the seller) and the bank. I don’t know if she gave the title company my pay off info for the mortgage but the info was wrong. I was assured that nope, all those figures are correct. Uh, no, they weren’t so the payoff figure and paperwork was redone. She asks me later if I was able to get the docs back to the title company. Weird question because like… wasn’t she at the closing? I thought I paid her to be present but obviously, I’m wrong. I get a check form the sale of the house. The bank tells me there is a question of validity. She didn’t seem concerned and neither did the title company. No biggie, I guess, but both said this had never happened to them before but oddly enough, didn’t appear to be concerned. So yeah, we got some contradiction going on. Come to find out, because of the amount, the check is on hold for fraud purposes. You can imagine my surprise to find out after the sale is done, that she charged me an extra $495 for an ‘additional commission’. There’s nothing I can do… I never signed a contract with Miranda and I only have myself to blame. I’d recommend her but SIGN A CONTRACT. Get it in writing. That mistake costs me $495. She got me good so here’s some kudos.
